Mulan Times Two

Being sick in bed for days at a stretch means I get to watch tons of movies, one of my all-time favourites being Dinsey's Mulan. I just got the Blu-Ray on Thursday, too, so it's been a delight to finally watch it in crystal clear hi-def. AND I MEAN WOW. IT LOOKS FANTASTIC.

Seriously, like, listen you guys. Real talk. The Little Mermaid is my fave Disney film based on sentimental reasons, but when it comes to which movie I enjoy the most for its slick execution and entertainment value, Mulan beats all the rest in my books. I don't know what you kids go on about when you rave about Frozen being such a revolutionary, never-been-done-before movie because of its positive messages for girls. Mulan did it twenty years ago and way better. THERE I SAID IT. *grabs popcorn and prepares for loooooong comments*

MOVING ON! In the Filmmakers' Commentary it's explained how Mulan's facial structure is slightly altered when she acts like a man, and I was majorly keen on trying it out. I also took the opportunity to draw her as we see her at the very start of the film — in her pajamas!

Anyways, I might still be missing in action for a while, so I'll catch you guys when I'm back on my feet.
