Description

Hey guys. :wave:

So lectures have started again, and I can honestly say, third year Law is definitely much tougher than second year. ^^;

I managed to slip away to the library on campus in between classes on Friday and paged through some books on Victorian fashion. Drew these last night very roughly to jot down the trends of the 1880s while they were still fresh in my head. :) Nothing special, just felt since I'm not going to be posting much for a while, might as well post this.

Thanks to everyone for all the love and support! :hug: Sorry I don't have time to reply to all your comments. Special thanks to everyone who sent me birthday and Valentines wishes. :love:

She's really cute. All of the sketches look great, but my favorites are probably the one on the top right, the second one down on the left, and the bottom two.

I love the one on the top-right, with her stretching her arms up over and behind her head. First off, her expression, even a bit sketchy as it is, is so cute. I love the big, happy smile and the kinda coy, playful look she's casting to the side. Coupled with how her arms are posed, she seems like she might be playfully bantering with someone to the side. So cute.

The first sketch on the second "row" is great, too. I really like the details on her dress -- I don't usually find big, fancy dresses all the appealing, but I love how hers looks. I love the details, the flowery things all across the skirt(s?) and I think the lines on the skirt, the kinda bouncy, energetic lines of the fabric draping down gives it a lot of energy that makes it more fun.
Her expression in this sketch also really grabs my attention. It's packed with soooo much emotion! And it's kinda like...an expression that she's putting on, unhappy and defeated, like she's trying to contain how unhappy at some situation she's in. Her slight frown, her overall calm demeanor, and the kind of pained look in her eyes all scream how sad she feels. I don't know what your story is for her, but seeing how sad she is in the pic, in contrast with how happy she is when her hair's down, I get the impression that there's an arranged marriage or something that doesn't make her happy, and there's a boy she likes who does. But that expression in this sketch tells a story all on its own.

The bottom two are great, because the expressions are also strong, and it's fun to see how they contrast. The first one, she has this kinda calm, demure look of shock or worry; it's there, in her eyes, but you can tell she has to contain it somewhat. Her eyes there are really expressive, wide as they are. Then you have her looking really happy and content as she dances, with her hair down, in the last sketch. I love the energy in her hair, and how it animates them dancing, and I love her smile (and his is great, too) and how they're locking their eyes together. They look really happy and cute. : )

Great sketches! You're so talented and skilled at communicating emotion in your art. : )
